Brad Siberling pega num dos melhores filmes, considero-o de culto, de Wim Wenders - As Asas do Desejo -  e transforma-o numa versão patética, xaroposa e fortemente comercial que dá pelo nome do Cidade dos Anjos.
O canastrão do Nicolas Cage mais valia ter ficado em casa e Meg Ryan... enfim.
Johnny Depp chegou a ser contactado para ficar com o papel do Cage.


De todo o filme apenas uma coisa fica de fora do lamaçal que a Cidade dos Anjos é: a sua banda sonora. Dela recordo um tema que oiço com um prazer tremendo: os Goo Goo Dolls a tocarem Iris.

Da letra há um verso (refrão) extraordinário que o guitarrista e vocalista da banda canta:
