uma música para o fim de semana - Richie Campbell





Reggae é sempre fixe.
A sua frescura musical está sempre associada ao sol no rosto, brisas no cabelo, areia nos pés.
No último fim de semana de Agosto (ufff!!), e com o Outono a fazer anunciar-se, parece-me justo fazer uma festarola bem comercial para comemorar o seu fim com reggae.

É música dos tops e certamente que passou incessantemente nos famosos sunsets veranis algarvios.
Richie Campbell é o nome mais na moda do reggae nacional.

Curiosamente, e até há bem pouco tempo, pensei que ele fosse de um país qualquer que não o nosso.
Talvez até jamaicano. E antes de o ter visto, com a sua voz tão fiel ao timbre característico do reggae pensei que fosse o clássico estereótipo de Bob Marley: preto, rastas, gorro com as cores associadas ao rastafarianismo: o verde da terra e esperança, o amarelo da igreja e paz, e o vermelho do poder e fé.

Mas é tuga. Anda de calças de ganga, t-shirts e cabelo. Ricardo Ventura da Costa aka Richie Campbell nasceu na Mortágua e tem vinte e oito aninhos.


Vai frequentemente à Jamaica para se manter a par do que se vai fazendo na pátria do reggae.
E foi na capital da Jamaica, Kingston, que o vídeo de That's How We Roll foi gravado.
